Transforming Industries with Nanobubble Water Treatment
Many major industries produce massive amounts of polluted water every day. The eco-friendly way to handle that water is to treat it for reuse. However, the treatment methods available are often either too expensive, bad for the environment or both. Nano Gas™ nanobubble water treatment solutions are an eco-friendly and financially superior option for multiple industries.
Nanobubbles are extremely tiny, charged balls of gas that can remain suspended in a solution for extended periods. What sets our nanobubble technology apart is we produce nanobubbles at an unparalleled scale using extremely dirty water without clogging the system. We also use any gas for a variety of applications and provide a fully personalized solution rather than just a bubbler.
Keep reading to find out how we use this technology to revolutionize several different industries. Please contact us today if you’re interested in our solutions for your company.
Industries We Serve
Currently, we’re focusing on three industries where we make the most significant impact: lagoon wastewater treatment, produced water treatment and enhanced oil recovery. Here’s how we’ve worked alongside companies and communities in each of these industries to provide custom solutions to their problems.
Lagoon Wastewater Treatment with Nanobubbles
Out-of-compliance lagoons are a major threat to the health and well-being of communities around our country. These lagoons contain water full of sludge and hazardous algal blooms (HABs). The lagoons release methane and foul odors. Not only are these lagoons unpleasant to look at and smell, but they also often produce noxious fumes that are unsafe for humans and animals. Furthermore, standard solutions like dredging are often too expensive for the small communities affected.
Nano Gas™ Environmental provides a full range of services for these communities, including analysis and operation of all necessary equipment. Our oxygen nanobubbles activate bacteria that eat the sludge, eliminate algae and methane and stop odors. Because the bubbles are less buoyant than water, they stay suspended in the lagoon to enable bacteria to consume sludge clogging the bottom.
Rural communities enjoy these benefits as we transform their lagoons:
- Elimination of harmful algae blooms and methane within a week
- Increased lagoon capacity and restoration of wildlife to the area
- Costs 80-90% less than standard dredging

Produced Water Treatment with Nanobubbles
The oil industry produces over 12 billion gallons of polluted water every day. This water cannot be reused because it contains corrosive sulfides, grit or suspended solids and oil. The standard method for treating this water is to use hazardous chemicals in multimillion-dollar saltwater disposal (SWD) wells. Not only is this method expensive, but it also causes earthquakes when produced water is injected into the ground.

Nano Gas™ solutions are a much less expensive and safer alternative to SWD wells. Instead of using hazardous chemicals, nanobubbles naturally clean the water by separating it from the oil, remediating the corrosion-causing sulfides and dropping the suspended solids. Unlike other solutions, our Nano Gas™ system doesn’t clog in this polluted water since we don’t use membranes to create them. Because of this, ours is the optimal solution for this task.
This treatment has significant benefits for the oil and gas industry:
- Make the treated water available for reuse in oil production
- Conserve fresh water that would have been used in the oil production process
- Reduce corrosion and operating costs at SWD wells
Enhanced Oil Recovery with Nanobubbles
The oil industry isn’t as successful at producing oil as it could be. The problem is oil often sticks to the geology, especially in tight cracks, making the extraction process difficult. Currently, most oil companies use chemicals and fracking to get this oil. These expensive and often ineffective methods are usually hazardous to the environment.
Nanobubble technology is a safer alternative to chemicals and fracking. When injected into oil wells, the nanobubbles stick to the formation and kick the oil off it so that it flows more easily. The bubbles are 2,500 times smaller than a grain of sand, so they penetrate even the tiniest of cracks. They also create a smooth surface on the formation so that the oil flows over it with less friction when pumped.
As a result, the oil industry enjoys these amazing benefits:
- Increase oil well production without using chemicals
- Recover oil with less energy and no fracking
- Reduce the cost of oil production by increasing productivity
