The Now Fully Functional Lagoon Has an Increased Capacity Thanks to the Affordable Patented Solution
The 300-family town of New Home, Texas, no longer must spend $1,000,000 to dredge its lagoon. The large fee seemed like the town’s only option to avoid regulatory non-compliance. But Nano Gas™ Environmental proved otherwise. The company used its patented technology to restore functionality and reduce organic sludge by 95% for less than $100,000.
“To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it would work,” said Teresa Olsen, City Secretary of New Home. “It has exceeded our expectations. It cleaned it up way better than we thought and saved us a lot of money.”
How Nano Gas™ Environmental Fixed The Problem
When New Home enlisted the help of Nano Gas™ Environmental, the community was looking for a miracle cure. Its lagoon ponds were overrun with sludge and algae and were releasing air-polluting methane. The whole system was out of capacity to support the town’s current population and was not in regulatory compliance.
Rather than hope for a miracle, the Nano Gas™ Environmental team addressed the problem head-on with science. They first completed a bathymetric (sonar) survey and discovered that organic sludge had overtaken the pond. The high amount of sludge left only 2-3 feet of water instead of the required volume. After this, they did DNA testing on the sludge to find the best treatment.
Based on this testing, the team recommended aerobic consumption of the sludge with Nano Gas™ nanobubbles, Air Diffusion Systems bacteria and bacteria-enhancing enzymes. New Home saw the chance to solve their problem at a much lower cost and agreed to the treatment.
Not long after the Nano Gas™ Environmental team went to work, the community began seeing results. The algal bloom started dissipating on the first day and returned to normal levels within two weeks. By the second day of treatment, the methane gas quit rising. Then, a suitable environment was established for microbes to live and reproduce.
After only six months, the treatment had completely restored the lagoon to full functionality. The lagoon’s capacity increased by 36%, and native wildlife returned to the clean body of water.
Why This Treatment Process Was So Effective
When asked what made the process work, Nano Gas™ Environmental representative Barry Young had this to say:
“It worked because we applied a sophisticated diagnostic process to engineer a solution to New Home’s specific problem. A lot of guys sell whatever chemical or bacteria they have and claim it will work. We did a complete diagnostic with bathymetric mapping and DNA analysis and used that to pick the right bacteria and enzymes.”
Beyond this thorough preparation, Young also points to the company’s patented nanobubble system as the secret sauce for lagoon wastewater treatment.
The company’s nanobubble system supplies up to 140 ppm of dissolved oxygen, which is far more scalable than any other nanobubble solution available. The patented solution also has the unheard-of ability to avoid clogging in even the dirtiest pond water. Instead, it integrates with the bacteria and enzymes to effectively clean rural wastewater lagoons from the inside out.
